The Intrepid Explorers
Team Fido comprises Toby Fry and Dan Marsh, two West Country lads who met 2 years ago at Southampton University where they are currently studying.
Toby Fry
25, I am currently studying for a degree in mechanical engineering, having already completed an engineering apprenticeship at AgustaWestland in Yeovil.
I grew up in Somerset and rarely ventured any further than France for holidays. The rally offered an ideal opportunity to travel 1/3 way around the world and experience life from a different perspective whilst raising money for charity.
As a regular competitor in off-road driving competitions I am used to reading terrain as well as repairing vehicles with limited tools and spares. Should my engineering skills fail us, I’m hoping that we will be able to repair anything on the car with cable ties, Gaffer tape, bits of string or anything that we can find lying in the road!

Dan Marsh
20, Dorchester born and bred, I am in my third year of a Master of Geophysics degree. A keen skier, hockey player and climber I am always keen to try something new and adventurous.
Having never done the traveling thing that so many young people do in their gap year, I thought I could combine my own bit of adventuring with raising loads of cash for deserving charities. I have little mechanical knowledge, but I can drive, read a map and during my time as a student have developed excellent blagging skills to extricate myself from sticky situations.
I am incredibly excited about the prospect of this challenge, whilst maintaining a healthy respect for just how extreme it actually is.

Fido
Fido is the teams newest edition, he is a very agreeable chap always enjoying the moment and rocking away to any music that happens to be playing in the car at the time. Being an inanimate object he is unable to communicate with us, but I'm fairly sure we'll be taking to him alot during the journey.
