They have left!
Yes, at around 1pm on Saturday 21st July Toby, Dan and Mel were seen leaving Hyde Park embarking on their long journey. With a tank full of fuel and a bit of gas relief from the previous nights curry, a smooth start was had. I am sure that you send your best wishes.
By 7:30pm that evening, there was confirmation that they had reached Calais safely. It is assumed that Mel's water wings worked well. To see where the trio will be heading for next, check out the route page.

Just entered Latvia and heading for the Russian border. Hopefully reaching it this afternoon, roads are getting worse but still tarmaced. Should reach Moscow by tomorrow

Campin between Moscow + Samara with Team Scraz and 2 4 The Road. Last night drank gallons of vodka with some Russians, detained by police and all got lost alone. Safe!

Sat waiting for Russian border to open; 2-11 apparently. 28km of no mans land to Mongol border. With Battlestar Fiesta and a Spanish team so all good. Hope we have got all the papers.

Olgii. Scenery and driving awesome but cars will suffer on hills and bumps. Loving being totally Mongolian! Locals so cool.

Team Fido have reached Mongolia! They are at Olgij in the Altai mountains, north west Mongolia. Still a long way to go across some pretty rough terrain, but at least they are in the same country as their final destination of Ulaanbaatar.

In Khovd waiting for an 11 fingered mechanic to attempt a repair of leaking fuel tank. Destroyed sump guard yesterday so super cautious from now on. Nice views though.

Leavin khovd. If you're in town, look for a helpful ex-english teacher called Bertul near the net cafe at south end of main street on right. Loads of dishes outside.

Exhaust on roof, car sounds like a v8. Can't go faster than 25mph or the car falls apart. All ok, a bit hot and nearly deaf, car is starting to overheat.

Made it at 12.15 last night after fixing collapsed suspension 50km from Ulaanbaatar. We've only gone and done it. 6884 miles and the trip of a lifetime.
